🌟Skincare Throwbacks That Still Rock🌟

Hi there! Welcome back to the blog!👋

I wanted to post something fun, cute, and nostalgic—throwback viral skincare products from 2015 that still hold up! I still use these products to this day, and they are my backup defaults when the going gets tough, and my skin wants to act like a fool!

Who relates? What are your go-to skincare products that are tried and true and never fail you? Leave a comment below!

One main theme for this blog is trying to highlight products that are not tested on animals. We have enough knowledge of chemicals, soaps, makeup, toothpaste, and detergents now that we don't need to test on animals. Europe is already ahead of the U.S. with an international ban on cosmetic testing. That's definitely a step in the right direction.

If you do end up getting any of the items I mentioned, let me know in the comments how you like them! Disclaimer, all products linked in this blog post are affiliate links. You can purchase without using the affiliate link as well, but using these links helps me tremendously, so thank you!

My ride or die, my tried and true. It doesn't make sense because Nivea soft and Nivea creme include things skincare gurus dread, like mineral oil and fragrance! Normally, I, too, would avoid these things, but I can't lie; it's wrong, but it works. I love this stuff. I have been using it since I was in Germany in 2014. I started with the regular Nivea creme, which works, but wanted to move away from super harsh fragrances, especially on my face. When I got back to America, I found there were both Nivea creme and Nivea Soft for sale at most places. So, I kept my switch to Nivea Soft permanent. This is a staple in my medicine cabinet.

💘Why I love it💘
I grew up with extremely oily skin, but as I've gotten older, it's become more dry. Some days, it's oily, but most days, it feels like a desert! I have good ol' combination skin.

If you have dry to combination or even oily skin, I recommend Nivea Soft. I heard about this one in a beauty group and was skeptical because I was already in love with the regular Nivea Creme. I have to tell you guys though, this is my favorite. I have "fancy" face cremes, but this is my absolute favorite. Very mildly scented, if scented at all, goes on really light, moisturizes quickly, and doesn't feel greasy at all. I use this morning and night. I shower at night, so I apply it right afterward, and it keeps me hydrated overnight and into the next day. If you use it right out of the shower as well, it will be much more effective. Honestly, I love this creme. If there's any product to try for sure for any skin type it would be Nivea Soft. My skin has stopped breaking out; it has become more even, and it doesn't feel like the Saharan desert. It also works on hands, arms, legs, back, tummy, chest, or wherever else you need some hydration.

Another fun note is that Nivea is a cruelty-free brand that does not test on animals.

What are your thoughts on Nivea Creme vs. Nivea Soft? Love it? Hate it? Comment below!

💢Let's shed some light on this item💢

I won't even lie—at this point, e.l.f. has made a huge name for itself and has become an iconic household brand! I mean, you can't even go on TikTok or Instagram without a beauty guru or skincare girly preaching, e.l.f. I totally get it, too! There are so many great products in that brand's line of skincare. This is one of my personal favorites; however, that has stood the test of time! The e.l.f. Holy Hydration, gentle peeling exfoliant.

You don't need a lot for this to pack a punch! I personally only use about a dime-sized amount on wet skin 1x a week (or, let's be real, sometimes only once a month!), and immediately rinse it off. The way I know it works well is because I always break out the next day, and then the day after that, I have clear baby skin. After my second use, my skin had no issues with this exfoliator being used, and I have not broken out since.

Of course, the bonus is that you can also use this product on other parts of the body that tend to have a build-up of skin. If I am not using it on my face, I tend to use it over my tattoos to slough off dead skin cells that make my tattoos look ashy. I moisturize with Nivea Soft directly out of the shower while my skin is still damp.

Overall, this is a good product to try, especially for the price and quantity you get, as well as its versatility.

Have you tried this gentle peeling exfoliant by e.l.f.? Do you love it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments below!

At the height of the beauty guru craze that took off between 2012 and 2018,
I had heard a ton about lip exfoliators that were becoming popular on Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc., but I was unsure of what they were for exactly. Yes, obviously, they're for exfoliating your lips, but my root question was why.

I noticed this popularity was also closely related to the use of matte and liquid lipsticks, and it began to click for me. To ensure your lipstick lasts longer, you want a "blank" or "clean slate," so to speak, in terms of scrubbing off dead skin. So back then, I had to try out the hype, and let me tell you, it works!

Sure enough, keeping up with trends, e.l.f. had introduced their own lip exfoliators in brown sugar coconut, cherry creme, and sweet mint. I went with the most generic, which was the brown sugar coconut one. To this day I have tried both the coconut and the mint, and I like them both, but I prefer the coconut one.

With the advent of the "clean girly" aesthetic, this product has stood the test of time. How can you have a "clean" minimalistic look if your lips are chapped and peeling? You can't. This helps ensure you keep your lips smooth and soft! I use this once a week, as well as the above-mentioned exfoliating cleanser, and it keeps me smooth and shiny. Just make sure to use a moisturizing oil or balm after you use this—it can dry you out initially.

👉Final thoughts👈
These are my favorite items that have stood the test of time! When you find products that work time and time again, there is no way you can give them up. Some of my favorite products from the 2012-2018 era have since been discontinued, but these remain—for good reason!
