🌎 Some Small Ecofriendly Kitchen / Grocery Switches I Made In 2025 🌎

    As you've probably seen from a few of my posts, a big goal is to stay a bit more eco-friendly in this consumerized world. I wouldn't say I'm a minimalist or simple living, but I do try to be thoughtful with my purchases and only buy items I feel I realistically need and will definitely reuse. If I can't reuse something, I want it to be biodegradable if I can find it in that form.

    Here are two switches I made this year and why I love them...

    I've always wanted to find a good green alternative to plastic baggies, and I've found it!

    These bags are crafted entirely from corn starch! I got these gallon‑size resealable bags that are certified by BPI and meet stringent standards, which ensure they are fully biodegradable and compostable. They’re free of polyethylene, dyes, BPA, and toxic chemicals—making them a planet-conscious alternative to single-use plastic. I am also terrified of microplastics, and since these are made of starch, not to worry- they do not contain those! 

    These bags seal securely with a zipper closure, just like conventional freezer bags, and offer comparable strength and freezer protection. They function just like traditional zip-top bags for storing snacks, meat, and prepped meals

    As much as I hate throwing things away/creating more waste, these are single-use... BUT they are compostable.
